What stays on your device

Every animal you enter, with its name, ear number, photo and notes, every litter, and your rabbitry name and logo are written to your browser's own IndexedDB storage in a database called hutchline. A pedigree typed by hand is kept in local storage under hutchline.handPedigree.v1. There is no server side to this site: it is a set of static files. Nothing you type is transmitted anywhere.

That means your herd belongs to one browser on one device. It does not follow you to a phone, it is not backed up by us, and nobody else can read it. Clearing site data for this site removes it permanently. Export a backup from the herd page to keep a copy, and add a passphrase if you want the file itself locked.

Photos and spreadsheets stay on your device too

A photo you add is shrunk inside the page and stored with the animal. A spreadsheet you import is read inside the page. Neither is uploaded, stored or seen by us.

Printing

Pedigrees, sale sheets and herd lists print through your browser's own print dialog, and saving as PDF is done by your computer. Anyone you hand a printed pedigree to sees what is on it, so leave out anything you would not put on paper.

No accounts

There is no sign up, no sign in, no email capture and no password to lose.

What is collected

No account, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics of what you enter. Standard web server logs kept by the static host may record the request for a page, its time, and a network address, in the ordinary way any web server records a request.

Page counts

This site counts page visits through Cloudflare. The count sets no cookie, it cannot follow you from here to another site, and nothing you enter is part of it. It records that a page was opened, not what you typed.

Purchases

No paid plan is offered at present; if one is added, this page will describe it.

Cookies

Hutchline sets no cookies of its own and carries no advertising or cross site tracking scripts.

Young breeders

4-H and youth members are welcome to use the site. Because it collects nothing from anyone, there is no personal information about a child for us to hold, share or delete.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will appear on this page.
